Kushtha (Saussurea lappa), Vacha (Acorus calamus), Shati (Hedychium spicatum), Devadaru, Tagara, Siddhartha, Saindhava lavana, in a Tila Taila (sesame oil) base
Classical Indications
Amavata (rheumatic conditions with Ama), Sandhigata Vata (joint stiffness), Vata-Kapha disorders of the musculoskeletal system, Shoola (pain), Stambha (stiffness), Shotha (localised swelling), peripheral Vata conditions
Application
Warm the oil gently. Apply generously over the affected region. Massage with steady strokes for 15 to 20 minutes. Suitable for Abhyanga, Pichu, and as the oil base for Pinda Sweda or Patra Pinda Sweda. Follow with Swedana where indicated.
